The Arizona DeMolay Foundation Community Initiative is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Arizona DeMolay Foundation expecting to operate as a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) starting in 2021-2022. As a QCO, the Community Initiative can take in tax-creditable donations to raise money to benefit the Foundation's existing mission and to benefit qualified low-income Arizona students seeking to pursue higher education.

HOW IT WORKS

Q: How does the process work?

After making a donation to the Initiative, which you can do up to Tax Day (April 15th), keep your donation receipt. On your state taxes, fill out Form 321 and report your donation to receive your tax credit.

Q: Do I have to give $400 or $800?

No! You can choose to give any amount you are comfortable with below the maximums. You can also choose to give monthly to reach your donation goal.

Q: What are the benefits of donating?

Donating to our Initiative provides you, the taxpayer, the power to use your tax dollars more effectively. Let's show you how it can be of help:

If you owe taxes, giving to the Initiative will allow you to reroute your tax dollars toward our great cause and receive a tax credit. So, if you owe $500 and give $400, you will only owe $100 and send your $400 to us!

If you do not owe taxes, giving to the Initiative will cost you nothing. After filling out your taxes, you will receive a refund of your gift, dollar-for-dollar.

Q: How is my donation used?

By law, the Community Initiative must use at least 50% of our budget to benefit qualified low-income, chronically ill, or disabled individuals in Arizona. For our purposes, we have chosen to benefit qualified low-income Arizona students seeking higher education at either a trade school, community college, or university.

The other 50% of our budget will be provided to the Arizona DeMolay Foundation's existing mission to enhance the future of DeMolay in Arizona through perpetual financial support.

Q: Can you help me with tax questions?

No. For specific questions related to your taxes and giving to our Initiative, please consult your tax advisor.

Q: What if I have questions about your Initiative?

Please feel free to contact us about our Initiative by emailing us!
